Sugared Carrots

    3 medium sized clean carrots, cut either on the decorative diagonal or irritatingly hacked into bite-sized pieces--the dullness of your knife dictates
    2 T olive oil
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    1 tsp white sugar
    fresh chopped dill to taste

Steam the carrots until their resemblance to the tree family lies more with the young sapling than the ancient sequoia (about 7 minutes). Remove from steamer. Meanwhile, heat oil in a sauté pan. Add carrots and garlic and quickly cook until the garlic is fragrant but not yet bitter. Sprinkle the sugar over the carrots and mix in. Top with dill. Done, finito, finished.
